ARTIST STATEMENT


I was born in 1959, and spent my growing up years in the small, beachside town
Of Lanztville on Vancouver Island, BC.Our family lived in a cabin by the ocean where I had endless time and opportunity of experiencing and observing the wonder and wildness
Of sand, sea and sky.

My recent three month journey through New Zealand had a profound affect and consequent shift in my painting.The expansiveness, freshnessand innocenceof New
Zealand and the soft, muted colours, gentle rolling hills and constantly moving skies entranced and somehow inspired a return to my essential self.
